As a Johnny Cash Tribute Artist I enjoy this site as it has become a meeting place for anyone who appreciated the Man in Black.
Johnny Cash - Big Rock Candy Mountain J Cash Lives!
Readers, currently I'm writing a song about a place where kids of all ages can go to experience the wonder of Christmas depicted in the world's largest display of lights. So for inspiration I went back in my mind and pulled out the memory of a song I heard as a kid; The Big Rock Candy Mountain. When I did a search I found that yes, the prolific Man in Black also did this song! Enjoy!

BARRY LEE BARTLETT JOHNNY CASH Song
Johnny Cash loved the trains and singing about them and those who were the "heros" of the rails. I hadn't heard this song and I wanted to give it more play. If you like it, place your comments below!
I invite you to also leave your comments at the YouTube video.
James Garner (and his band) does Johnny Cash Right!
This is a great tribute to the Man In Black and watching the
YouTube video, I really appreciate the tight sound of the band. Many bands “overdo”
this and play these songs too fast, etc. etc. It’s clear that they worked hard
to get the right sound. The lead player is true to the original. This band and
James does it right!
According to the review by Chicoer:
"I took the easy way, and to an extent I regret that.
Still, though, the way we did it was honest. We played it and sang it the way
we felt it, and there's a lot to be said for that."
Johnny Cash said this in his book entitled Cash. There are many people who sing the songs of Johnny Cash. There are few who are committed to being true and accurate to the Man In Black's music. There are even fewer who don't just mimic the songs but truly perform them the way Cash would have, himself.
James Garner is one of those few who have truly taken the music of the man to heart and made something that would make Cash smile.
