James Garner (and his band) does Johnny Cash Right!

This is a great tribute to the Man In Black and watching the YouTube video, I really appreciate the tight sound of the band. Many bands “overdo” this and play these songs too fast, etc. etc. It’s clear that they worked hard to get the right sound. The lead player is true to the original. This band and James does it right!

According to the review by Chicoer:

"I took the easy way, and to an extent I regret that. Still, though, the way we did it was honest. We played it and sang it the way we felt it, and there's a lot to be said for that."
Johnny Cash said this in his book entitled Cash.

There are many people who sing the songs of Johnny Cash. There are few who are committed to being true and accurate to the Man In Black's music. There are even fewer who don't just mimic the songs but truly perform them the way Cash would have, himself.

James Garner is one of those few who have truly taken the music of the man to heart and made something that would make Cash smile.

Johnny Cash and the Lake House Mystery; a Great Article

I have just read an article about the Cash house on the lake that is very well written, very informative and as one reader stated: "This gave me goosebumps!" Check it out. There is also a great picture with the article. Then come back here and leave your comments about it.

The article is called: Johnny Cash and the Lake House Mystery.

Josh Turner & The Whites, Ring Of Fire ( Johnny Cash). Live, Grand Ole O...

Not sure why the video doesn't always upload to here from YouTube, so here's a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tREELNc0FcM

Of all the country artists who are out there, those who sing a Johnny Cash song from time to time, my favorite is Josh. First of all, he's just a super, down home next door neighbor kind of guy. But it voice is right down there with Johnny's. Of course Josh's voice doesn't sound "like" Johnny's but it's all good; very good.

The readers to this blog know that I wrote and perform a song as a tribute to the Man in Black. If you can get hold of Josh, let him know that he'd be the guy that should record it. You can find it elsewhere on this blog or just do a web search for Johnny Cash Me and My Heart. You'll find a YouTube video of it. Let me know what you think.

Thanks again Josh for honoring Merle Kilgore who wrote Ring of Fire and for Johnny Cash who made it famous! J Cash Lives!
