J Cash on a Moose Hunt and his To Do List: Kiss June

Wow, now this is an awesome (and not the same old stuff) article about Johnny:

J Cash LIves via Young Thai band that plays Johnny Cash classics.

I was at a friend's house; he's from Thailand. So, he like Thai music and I like Johnny Cash music. I found this video and we were both happy! Check it out. Great to see young people diggin' the Man in Black. Also, the second lead sounds a bit more like Brian Setzer's stuff, but all in all, real fun. Wok (?) the LIne? Staten Island Rockin'?

Yeah, you heard right. Wok the Line. Wish I had sound or a video.

This article makes me remember an episode from the Johnny Cash show (I tried to find info about it but could not find any; if any reader can help, let me know). Anyway there was a man who was from Japan and was a Johnny Cash impersonator (of sorts) who sang Johnny Cash songs in Japan.

I think he was singing Folsom Prison or I Walk the Line and toward the end of the song he acted as if his guitar was not working. Quickly someone off camera came running up and checked all of the connections and then the guy turned the guitar over and said, "Oh here's the problem; Made in America!".

It was funny at the time because things "Made in Japan" had a bad reputation. Things have surely made a turn around today with Japan's innovation and workmanship have surpassed ours in many ways, but I digress.

Johnny Cash lives on in a tourism ad

It's great to see Johnny Cash living on 11 years after his parting. Here is one example:  Jack White, Keith Urban and Johnny Cash in Tennessee Tourism Ad ... Also featured in the video is the late Johnny Cash, with country songwriter Rivers Rutherford providing voice-over for the spot. The song that plays throughout the ad is "Mission Bells" by Nashville indie rock band, The Apache Relay. You can see the video after reading the article HERE.

Johnny Cash's "coolest" songs per Rolling Stone

I've mentioned it before in this blog when the car was for sale to the owners of Pawn Stars; it was a fun show episode but they didn't buy it because the owner wanted too much for it. It's now up for grabs again...

In the period he hosted his own TV music variety show on ABC, the Television Network ordered and purchased the 1970 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow long wheelbase Saloon in question they gifted Cash with.

It’s been nearly 11 years since the death of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash, but the indelible footprint he left on the music industry is most certainly enduring. Johnny Cash created a legacy during the time he was alive and even after his death. Johnny Cash graced the earth with his presence and his music from 1932 to 2003.

Angola has a Man in Black Concert over the Weekend; good attendance.

Man in Black Tribute Act at Angola per The Sun  (online) Newspaper:

ANGOLA — After a day of cloudy skies and forecasts of rain and thunderstorms in the area, the Angola Summer Lawn Chair Concert Series moved from its regular location in the village’s Centennial Park to the back-up rain location of the New Angola Theater on Aug. 20 for a concert by the Johnny Cash tribute act, the Man in Black.

I don't know where Angola is located, you can do a Google search if interested; I looked at the CONTACT US area of the website and there was no mailing or physical address shown. 

It sounds like it was a good time for Johnny Cash fans and I'm thinking that being inside was more "realistic" environment for such a concert instead of being outdoors.

Taking the stage at 7 p.m. after a brief introduction by Deputy Mayor Bill Houston, Craig Wilkins, the titular “Man in Black” in the tribute act, took the stage with his backing band, the Less Than New Yorkers.
